Job Description
|
The primary purpose of this position is to create, manage, maintain, and support internal servers and services including but not limited to email, calendaring, DNS, DHCP, Asterisk PBX and file sharing in Windows, Linux, and Solaris environments.
A secondary responsibility of this position is to create detailed, accurate documentation of process, procedure and network/system configuration.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Install, configure and support Windows, Mac, and Linux workstations and internal servers.
2. Install, configure, and support office networking components: switches, wireless APs, routers, IP phones.
3. Track and respond to helpdesk issues throughout the day via a ticketing system.
4. Coordinate with external vendors to quote, purchase, install and maintain connectivity services (phones, ip bandwidth, etc).
5. Scripting and automation of common administrative tasks.
6. Be on-call 24/7/365, carry a pager/cell-phone and have reliable transportation.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED SKILLS:
• 3+ years experience systems administration, helpdesk, or technical support.
• 3+ years experience with Windows 2000/XP/2003.
• 3+ years experience with Linux/Unix.
• Ability to rapidly debug and repair system and application problems without assistance.
• Familiarity with debugging system and network problems.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP, DNS, SSH, HTTP(S), SMTP, VoIP, Asterisk PBX.
• Experience with operation of completely remote systems with no physical access.
• Ability to travel to remote sites, lift and install heavy equipment.
• Ability to work a ticket queue with or without direct supervision or direction.
• BA/BS/MS CS/EE/CMPE/CIS or industry equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated leadership and management skill.
